We don't want to make too much of this. In fact, we don't want to make anything of it. But could it be that CNBC just top-ticked the price of oil by placing two barrels on its set in Englewood Cliffs?
Here's anchor Trish Regan's* riff on the pair of black barrels right behind her:
You know we've been talking so much about this oil at $100 a barrel that we wanted to show just exactly how large a barrel of oil really is. Take a look here; I've got some right behind me, some actual barrels that you would put oil in. So this gives you a sense of the size...and you know, I gotta tell ya, it's relatively small. You'd think for almost a hundred bucks each you'd be getting a little bit more, Dylan.
Great stuff, no?
Even less important than barrels-on-the-set, and only mentionable in a trivial post like this one: Regan's incredibly annoying habit of shouting her question-interruptions over all manner of CNBC guests. Nothing gets our mute button working faster.
